Last month was the wettest February in the UK since records began in 1862. Three named storms in three successive weeks, dumping unprecedented amounts of rain on already saturated land led to devastating flooding in several parts of the country. 237% above average rainfall! And now (at last) a recent survey conducted even before the storms has suggested that “climate concern” has doubled.
New research by The Met Office has added to a growing body of evidence that extreme rainfall events are a significant RISK factor in the UK.
